Rance happy with performance despite defeat
DIRECTOR of rugby Tom Rance declared himself happy with Stratford’s performance despite a 29-27 defeat against Wolverhampton on Saturday.
Having been well below their best against Whitchurch last weekend, the Black and Whites produced a much-improved performance against a tough Wolves side at Castlecroft Road.
Rance was pleased with what he saw, but admits there is still plenty of room for improvement.
He said: “Our performance was ten times better against what was a strong Wolverhampton side.
“There were a couple of things we need to iron out, but after what has happened in the last two weeks, this was all about the performance.
“Whilst it’s always always disappointing to lose, to pick up two points is great and it moves us up the table.”
James Southall scored two of Stratford’s four tries, with the others coming from Dan Whitby and Jack Young. Nath Geekie converted two and kicked a penalty.
