Shipston anglers claim Winter League glory

SHIPSTON and District Angling Club claimed glory in the final round of the Stratford AC Annual Team Winter League.
Stratford Red claimed the honours on the day with 19 points, ahead of Shipston and Stratford blue on 18. Piscatorials had 15, while Nomads claimed four.
Shipston top the overall standings though with 79 points, with Stratford Red claiming second on 68.
Stratford Blue were third (67), followed by Piscatorials (57) and Nomads (38).
The overall individual winner was Ali Scruby with 15lb 7oz of chub caught on the pole with maggot.
Shipston’s winning five-man squad, as pictured above, were Malcolm Allinson, Rob Oakey, Andy Simpson, Stuart Fleming and Graham Wheeler. The team picked up £280. The overall singles winner was Pete Wedgebrow.
