A SLOW start proved costly for Stratford as they went down to a 31-20 defeat at Dudley Kingswinford on Saturday.

The Black and Whites fought back with tries from Callum Cook, Craig Voisey and Simon Baldwyn, but it wasn't enough as Stratford suffered their seventh defeat of the campaign.

Jon Duncan added a penalty and converted one of the scores.

The defeat sees Stratford slip down to fifth in Midlands 1 West, with Dudley moving above them into fourth.
