STRATFORD Cricket Club have been handed a huge boost with the news that REPL Group has renewed and expanded its sponsorship of the club.

The new deal will see the club backed for the next three years across the first, second and junior teams.

Last summer brought mixed emotions for Stratford, with the first team relegated to Birmingham Premier League Division Three.

The second XI enjoyed an excellent season though, finishing fourth in their division, while the third team, the Stratford Bards, secured their second successive promotion.

“We are delighted to be able to commit to a multiyear deal supporting grassroots and community sport through Stratford-upon-Avon Cricket Club,” said Mike Callender, CEO of REPL Group.

“We became involved in 2015 because we could see that the club had put in place a strong plan for success both on and off the pitch. It was mixed emotions for the club last season but the passion for excelling their growth is still clearly visible.

“Therefore, we wanted to look at sponsoring a multi-year deal so that we can continue to support and be part of Stratford’s upward journey.”

The club’s commercial director, John Shurie, welcomed the announcement, saying: “REPL is a huge local success story — a company founded in the Stratford district less than a decade ago which now works around the world for some of the biggest names in global retail, distribution and manufacturing.

“We were delighted when REPL first saw the potential for community engagement and sporting excellence at this cricket club.

“I like to think that it is a real endorsement of what has been happening at Swans Nest Lane that they have further backed us for the next three seasons.”
