STRATFORD director of rugby Tom Rance insists there is plenty of work to do despite the team’s 47-11 thrashing of Hereford at Pearcecroft last Saturday.

The Black and Whites kicked off their Midlands 1 West campaign in the best possible fashion, securing a bonus-point victory against a Hereford side that is expected to mount a title challenge this season.

While Rance was delighted with his side’s all-round team performance, he feels there is plenty of room for improvement ahead of this weekend’s clash at Kenilworth.

“We still have a lot of work to do,” said Rance.

“Hereford didn’t really offer much in attacking flair and it sounds picky, but to concede 11 cheap points was disappointing.

“Our penalty count was also higher than we would have liked.

“The pleasing thing is we can take a lot of positives from the game. Hereford will definitely be in the top six come the end of the season, I have absolutely no doubt of that.”
