STRATFORD Special are celebrating after winning the Birmingham Ability Counts League Championship A Division.

The team, set up 15 years ago and now linked with Stratford Town Football Club, kept 19 clean sheets this season on their road to league glory.

Stratford won 19 times in 35 games, losing just four to finish 15 points clear of closest rivals Sporting Club Albion Strollers.

Luke Tanner was in goal for the 19 clean sheets throughout the season, while George Spilsbury finished as the team’s top scorer with 29 goals.

“I’m very proud of all of them and what they’ve achieved,” said founder member and head coach, Martyn Brookhouse.

“I’d also like to mention the coaching staff for their effort — Ian Mackinnon, Fraser Mackinnon and Dan Rimmel.”

Anyone who has a learning or physical disability or who is SENCO registered and would like to join the team can contact Martyn on 07591 127302 or e-mail brookhousebruk1@aol.com
