STRATFORD Town Colts under-14s rounded off a brilliant season by winning the Midland Junior Premier League Cup with a 2-1 win against Mickleover at Coleshill Town FC.

Colts, led by manager Darren Hodson and coach Jack Clemons, capped off a season that saw them finish one place from top in the 53-team development league, losing only one game in 19.

They were pipped to the top spot by one point by a team that had played two games more.

This weekend will see the boys flying to Spain to take part in the Barcelona Football Festival and pitting their skills against teams from as far afield as Brazil and France along with the host country.

Speaking about the trip, Hodson said: “The Barcelona trip is a reward for all the hard work this talented bunch of lads have put in throughout the season.

“We are confident that they will hold their own against the very best and gain invaluable experience to ensure their continued positive evolution for future seasons.”
