STRATFORD Town Youth strengthened their grip on top spot in the MFYL Premier Division South with a hard-fought 2-0 win over a spirited Rugby Town side on Thursday evening, writes Bryan Hale.

An entertaining game was goalless at the interval but Town upped their tempo in the second half to gain a deserved success.

Their pressure paid off when Harry Hartin fired them into the lead, and the points were secured when leading scorer Dylan Parker turned in a cross from Ramar Bell for his 11th league goal of an already prolific season.

And Town will be hoping for more of the same when they entertain Worcester City at the DCS next Thursday at 7.45pm.
