Stratford Tri's Molly on verge of West Midlands title
STRATFORD Tri Juniors are riding high in the latest West Midlands Series league tables.
Four Stratford athletes occupy top-three places ahead of the final race of the series.
The series usually consists of nine races with each athlete being judged in the tables based on their best four results, however after seven races, due to the cancellation of race eight in the series, there is only one race remaining.
The winner of each race scores a maximum of 10,000 points with all other athletes scoring points that reduce depending on how far their time is from the winner’s finishing time.
In the Tri Star 1 category, Jake Deaner currently occupies third place in the boys’ table with 38,330 points after some fantastic results this season.
In the girls’ table, Molly Bullock is currently in first place with 39,755 points, boosted by three first place finishes this season.
With just one race to go in the series it is looking extremely likely that Bullock will win the Tri Star 1 category title.
In the Tri Star 2 category, Stratford again have two athletes in top-three places with Abbie Wootton currently in second position in the girls’ table with 38,752 points and Ben Jones currently first place in the boys’ standings with 39,744 points.
Both athletes have put in some strong performances this season and are proving an inspiration to the younger members of the team.
The final race of the season is the Shipston Dip and Dash in September, which is a home race organised by Stratford when the Stratford Tri Juniors will be striving to put in their best performances in order to finish off the season as high up the tables as they possibly can.
