CAPTAIN Mike Brown insists promoted Stratford are determined to prove they can be competitive at the higher level, despite admitting Birmingham League Division Two has proved tougher than they expected.

The Panthers slipped to a third defeat in four matches after going down by four wickets to Oswestry last weekend at Swans Nest Lane.

Brown says it was another part of a steep learning curve for Stratford, but he backed the team-spirit which has revitalised the club in recent years to rise to the task again.

“The competition in Division Two is more difficult than I thought,” said the bowler. “I knew it would be tough but it really is a big step up. It’s tough but we are enjoying the challenge.

“I’m sure we will find a way to win games and put a run together.”

Stratford will look to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Stourbridge.
