MIKE TAYLOR has urged Stratford Town to seize the moment as they bid to move within 90 minutes of the FA Cup first round.

Town have equalled their best-ever run in the world’s greatest knockout competition and now head to Scarbrough Athletic today for a third qualifying round tie.

This is also Scarborough’s best ever run and the Northern Premier Division One North side will be expecting a crowd of 1,200-1300 at the Flamingo Land Stadium.

Front-runner Taylor helped Worcester City to reach the second round in 2014-2015, having dumped out Coventry City in the process and he is dreaming of another cup thriller.

The striker stressed Town need to be on the front foot from the very first whistle.

“We have got to get our heads down and be positive,” said Taylor. “We’ve got to believe in ourselves, and fight for each other. That’s the main thing and if we do that we will get the result we want.

“The talent is there. Scarborough have got a 3G pitch but the lads here want a good surface to play on and that will suit us. We’ve got a lot of attacking players.

“There will be a big crowd, a lot of pressure from the Scraborough crowd but if we go out and start on the front foot we will get the right result and be in the hat for Monday’s draw.”

Town will have their fingers crossed striker Edwin Ahenkorah will be fit after a knee injury.
