STRATFORD Town manager Carl Adams was delighted with his side as they claimed a hard-earned point in a 1-1 draw at title hopefuls Merthyr on Saturday.

Town went ahead thanks to Edwin Ahenkorah's fourth goal of the season, but Merthyr equalised through Ian Traylor midway through the second half.

"To a man, we were magnificent and battled from start to finish," said Adams.

"We were wholeheartedly committed and thoroughly deserved our point.

"It's a very tough place to come and play and some teams are beaten before they even get here.

"The lads have shown they can compete against the big boys in this league and they have to take that level of performance into the Redditch game on Tuesday night.

Town's game at Redditch on Tuesday is followed by another derby, at Banbury, this Saturday.
