Town handed trip to Solihull Moors

FOOTBALL

STRATFORD Town have been paired with Solihull Moors when they kick off their Birmingham Senior Cup campaign.

Moors had denied Town their first appearance in the final of county’s biggest competition since 1963 in 2016.

Solihull won 2-0 in the semi-finals before then winning the competition by beating Birmingham City at St Andrew’s

Town will visit the now National League Moors in this season’s first round, with the tie at the Automated Technology Group Stadium on a date yet to be arranged.

Meanwhile Town’s youth team travel to Leamington tonight (Wednesday) for their FA Youth Cup Preliminary Round tie.

The fixture kicks off at 7.45pm.

Town have only lost one away tie in this competition in the past eight years and that was at Football League side Peterborough United.
