Town Youth complete double to continue goal spree

FOOTBALL

Redditch United 0-4 Stratford Town Youth

Midland Floodlit Youth League, Premier Division South

Report by Bryan Hale

STRATFORD Youth completed the seasonal double over Redditch as they followed up their record-breaking 14-0 demolition of the Reds a fortnight ago with another emphatic success on Tuesday evening.

Victory means Nick Ballinger’s progressive side have now found the back of the net 22 times in their last three outings.

On Redditch’s 3G pitch at the Trico Stadium, Town were soon bossing the possession with Harry Hartin and James Pomeroy both having well-struck shots saved by the Reds keeper before Hartin fired Town ahead with a sumptuous long-range strike.

With Town now well on top, George Kirby doubled their lead as he rounded the keeper to slot home for 2-0 at the break.

It was more of the same in the second half with Hartin again and Dan Atkins both testing the overworked Reds keeper but he had no chance when Bradley West hit Town’s third with an absolute screamer from 20 yards out.

Harry Jones wrapped it up with Town’s fourth late on.

Stratford are back in MFYL action on Monday (23rd October) when they are away to Stourbridge.
