WARWICK School’s under-15 cricket team have been crowned Midlands champions.

The team beat Shrewsbury School in the semi-finals before going on to see off Trent College in the final.

Against Shrewsbury, Warwick scored 92-9 before dismissing their opponents in the penultimate over.

In the final against Trent, in a game reduced to 16 overs due to rain, Warwick skittled out Trent for 65 thanks to some impressive bowling and outstanding catches.

Their reply got off to a worrying start, losing two wickets in the first two overs. But Warwick then took control, scoring the required runs to reach their target with overs to spare.

As Midlands champions, Warwick School will now play at the ECB/ECSA National Finals Day at Arundel Castle Cricket Club, West Sussex, on 4th September.

Four teams qualify for the Finals Day from across the country and Warwick will face the winners of the north region in the semi-finals.
