EARLY goals from Nick Shurmer and Alex Welsby led Shipston Excelsior to a hard-earned 2-1 victory at Enville Athletic on Saturday.

Steve Stearn got one back for Enville, but they failed to find an equaliser as Shipston held firm.

FC Stratford maintained their title challenge following a 1-0 success at Bartestree. Nick Cox got the only goal of the game for Dave Poulson's side, who are now ten points off leaders GNP Sports with three games in hand.

Sports were left frustrated after being held to a goalless draw by a determined Alcester Town.

Sam Smith and Joe Wright got the goals as Central Ajax continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 win over Birmingham Tigers.

In Midland League Division One, in-form Racing Club Warwick were held to a 1-1 draw at Cadbury Athletic.

The Racers, who were attempting to win their 11th straight league game, went behind in the 50th minute to a Odane Barnes goal, but Richard Powell's strike eight minutes from time earned them a point.

Studley were thrashed 7-0 at Walsall Wood, while Littleton moved up to seventh thanks to a 2-0 home success over Chelmsley Town.

In Midland League Division Two, Dean Fisher's strike could not prevent Earlswood Town from losing 2-1 at Hampton.
