TEENAGE sensation Steve Boyce hit a first-half hat-trick as FC Stratford thrashed Castle Vale Town 5-0 on Saturday.

The 18-year-old made it five goals in three games as Stratford proved far too strong for the Midland League Division Three strugglers at the DCS Stadium.

Freddy Murphy and Jay Tilbury were also on target for Dave Poulson's side, who move up to seventh.

Alcester Town bowed out of the Birmingham Vase after crashing out on penalties at Darlaston.

Danny Janes' men twice came from behind as goals from Daniel Mumford and Robbie Davies saw the game finish 2-2, before Darlaston triumphed 4-2 on spot kicks.

Earlswood Town also bowed out of the competition on penalties against Coton Green at The Pavillions. The teams fought out a 0-0 stalemate, with the visitors progressing 4-1 in the shootout.

In Midland League Division One, basement boys Southam United suffered a 10-0 hammering at the hands of Heather St Johns.

Second-from-bottom Studley lost 3-1 at Leicester Road, while Littleton were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Chelmsley Town.

Wade Malley's goal could not prevent Racing Club Warwick from a 3-1 reverse at promotion-chasing Atherstone Town.
