SHIPSTON Excelsior continued their rise up the Midland League Division Three table following a 2-0 victory over Boldmere Sports at London Road on Saturday.

Nick Shurmer and Martin Tomes were the men on target for Shipston, who climb above Northfield Town into second spot.

FC Stratford let a 2-1 half-time lead slip as they went down 4-3 to Montpellier at Brewers Lane.

Steven Boyce, Adam Hemmings and Dean Poulson got the goals for Stratford.

Robbie Davies struck twice as Alcester Town eased to a 5-0 success at struggling Castle Vale Town.

Kieran Downey, Leon Blundell and Joe Shaw got the others in a result that sees Alcester remain in sixth.

In Midland League Division One, Studley were edged out in a seven-goal thriller at Heather St Johns.

Gareth Evans, Mathew Ross and Daniel Stokes netted for Studley, but strikes from Joel Ambalu (2), Jake Healy and Ahkeem Rose saw St Johns take the points.

Littleton are up to tenth following a 5-1 thrashing of Pelsall Villa at The Bush Ground.

Earlswood Town progressed in the Smedley Crooke Memorial Charity Cup thanks to a 3-1 home success over Upton Town.
