Wellesbourne youngsters qualify for finals day

WELLESBOURNE under-11s progressed to the Warwickshire League’s finals day with victory over Hunningham.

Facing a well-drilled and switched on opposition, Wellesbourne batted first.

Jack Myatt, Ed Smith and Ben Dyble all hit boundaries as part of their double figures run contributions, assisted by Tom Sarson-Hurst’s successive fours from his final two deliveries.

Posting 273-5, Wellesbourne were ruthless with their bowling attack, as Myatt (3-7) tore through the Hunningham ranks.

Further wickets from Dyble, Greg Chamberlain and Charlie Coyle, complimented by a brilliant low catch from Myatt, as well as intelligent and flexible field placing from Skipper Smith enabled Bourne to cruise home, winning by a comfortable 18 runs.
