Ex-Archers actress supports Phoenix Players
FORMER Archers actress Hedli Niklaus has taken up the position of patron of the local drama group the Phoenix Players.
Hedli, who played Kathy Perks in the Radio 4 drama, told Herald arts that she is to delighted to have been appointed and is looking forward to building a relationship with the group.
“If I can feed in and enthuse that would be marvellous. That’s what I love. I love being at the theatre, and I love how the Phoenix Players work, especially how they involve everyone including children,” she said. “I’m also hugely impressed by the quality of their work, and in fact all of the amateur groups in the area.”
Speaking on behalf of the Phoenix Players, Fiona Robson added are hoping that Hedli will be able to share her many years of experience with our members so that we can continue to lift the quality and range of our productions.
“Having seen the world premiere of our show, Hey Lil Man [in October], which was written and directed by one of our own members, Hedli was full of praise and advice for the future. “She is already brimming with ideas which we hope will ensure the continued longevity and success of our award winning group.”
The group’s next production is Once Upon a Time, a traditional family show, running at Stratford ArtsHouse, from 1st to 4th March next year.
