THE Townsend Hall in Shipston-on-Stour will host Oliver Darling And The Living Legends on Friday night, 21st April.

Oliver — who is from Brailes — has been guitarist with Irish superstar Imelda May’s band for a number of years, but is back with his own band for what is one of two gigs in the area this weekend.

He will also be appearing solo at The Cherington Arms in Cherington on Monday, at 8.30pm.

The musicians in the band are described as one of the most highly respected rock and roll and rhythm and blues line ups.

Geraint Watkins (vocals/piano), Martin Winning (tenor saxophone/clarinet), Nick Lunt (baritone saxophone), Mark Morgan (drums), and Matt Radford (double bass) have worked with some of the biggest names in music such as Jools Holland, Van Morrison, Roger Daltrey, Status Quo, Robert Plant, Jeff Beck, and Tanita Tikaram.

Tickets for the Shipston gig are £20 in advance from www.townsendhall.com, doors open at 7pm.
